27 May Outdoor Therapy

An outdoor space can add to our wellbeing, whether a small shaded London courtyard or a countryside retreat. Good spatial planning can greatly enhance our quality of life, both inside and outside our homes.
Open plan living is now commonplace within our homes , allowing designers to create different zones for varying functions and ambiances.
Take this concept outdoors and compartmentalise your terrace into “ garden room settings “ and enjoy La dolce vita – al fresco.
Design for Wellbeing
Create an outdoor lounge environment to relax, read and converse in. Extend the summer days into balmy nights with well positioned lighting. Here the versatile Emma Collection by Varaschin has been arranged to reflect the layout of a formal living room, to maximise interaction.

Outdoor Dining Room
How wonderful , an intimate supper under the canopy of a scented tree – the perfect dining experience and you only need to travel to your garden!I particularly like the choice of colour for the weave and seat cushion on the Flexform Ortigia chairs, that cleverly pick out similar tones in the decking and base of the Fly table.
Outdoor fires
To continue enjoying our outdoor space when the temperature drops, an outdoor fire could be designed into your scheme. A glass of red wine, the warmth of the fire as you discuss events of the day and make plans for tomorrow. Browse our collection of Bioethanol Fires here. The Flexform Vulcano Sofa
Create an outdoor lounge by grouping furniture as you would indoors and add accessories such as lamps and rugs. The woven frame is the distinctive motif for the Flexform Vulcano outdoor collection. The upholstery has a sophisticated palette ranging from earth tones to Bordeaux and olive green…… soft neutral tones to compliment your outdoor planting.
The Varaschin Barcode Sofa
We often continue the Porcelain tiles from the inside floors through to the terrace areas to seamlessly connect the spaces. Specifying a textured anti-slip finish to the exterior tiles.Connecting the indoor/outdoor spaces is taken a step further here, with the Varaschin Barcode Sofa gracing both rooms, seemingly passing through the glass wall.
Home Sweet Home
This is our outdoor therapy space. We are fortunate enough to have a large terrace and are super happy with our oversized modular sofa, planting and feature lighting, but are still discussing/arguing about what table and chairs will work best.A corner sofa is a great way to separate the lounge and dining areas, we chose the fabulous Moon lights to create a feature sculpture, surrounded the terrace with festoon lights and highlighted the garden lodge with up/down spots, so the lighting level can to be adjusted according to the mood.
Think of your outdoor space as separate rooms. I have touched on the lounge and dining room, but why not an outdoor spa or an outdoor kitchen? If you would like help in realising your outdoor haven please contact us.
