When working on complete projects, two things are always high on our clients wish lists – a kitchen island and a corner sofa group. So here I have selected some of my favourite modular sofa collections.
FLEXFORM MOOD ALFRED
The intimate mood collection from Flexform is inspired by yesteryear. Traditional stylistic features are reinterpreted with a contemporary twist. The Alfred stand-alone and sectional sofa conveys a typically “New Classic” flair. Its enveloping seat back curves around, sloping gently to form the armrest. The seat cushions are generously filled with goose down. The sofa rests on an elegant metal base that comes in satin, chrome, black chrome, burnished, bronze or champagne finish. Seriously sophisticated in the two- or three-seat stand-alone version, the Alfred sofa also comes with the option of creating interesting compositions, thanks to the curved corner element. Couture details highlight Alfred’s soft silhouette – the seat back and cushions are finished with refined tone-on-tone or contrasting colour grosgrain piping.

FLEXFORM GROUNDPIECE
The benchmark of modular sofas – Antonio Citterio transformed the very concept of the sofa, when designing the Groundpiece. It is low and deep, offering a more relaxed, casual approach to seating. Groundpiece embodies the quintessence of Flexform comfort and is exceptionally inviting, thanks to the amply-sized goose-down cushions. Signature elements are the leather bookcase armrest and the bolster roll cushion for extra back support.
GIORGETTI SKYLINE
Skyline offers a plethora of options, as the sumptuous upholstered modules can be combined with storage elements, tables and bookcase arms in wood, leather and marble. A stand out feature is the optional headrest mechanism that allows the back cushions to be reclined to the optimal position for individual tailored comfort.
