Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo (Spain) in 1961. She attended the University of Architecture at Madrid Polytechnic as well as Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989. In 2001 she opened her own studio working on product design, architecture, and installations. She currently lives and works in Milan, creating design products for the most important Italian and international companies, and has been the Art Director of Cassina since September 2015.

An outdoor collection with simple understated lines yet strong style identity. Reminiscent of the botanical structure of a flower, the collection features a slender flexible stem. The optical unit of the Nest version is wrapped in a special metallic mesh that creates unusual, fascinating plays of light and shadow.

Patricia Urquiola has won numerous international awards including the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes (Gold Medal in Fine Arts) awarded by the Spanish Government; “Designer of the decade” for two German magazines, Home and Häuser, “Designer of the Year” for Wallpaper, Ad Spain, Elle Decor International and Architektur und Wohnen Magazine.

Asterias is a round table designed by Patricia Urquiola, featuring a central base reminiscent of a cactus from which it takes its name. The top with a gentle rounded edge is sub-divided, in the wood version, into four wedges that give rise to an interesting geometric pattern. Available with an optional central Lazy Susan turntable.

AXOR Urquiola
Characterised by unconventional asymmetries, a surprising mix of flat and rounded surfaces, and expressive flourishes that include a wave on top of the mixer spouts, the collection is extravagant, sensuous and strikingly original. In addition to mixers for the wash basin, bath and shower, AXOR Urquiola includes wash bowls, wash basins, bathtubs and accessories.
Flos Tatou
Flos Tatou
Created by Patricia Urquiola for Flos, Tatou is a collection of lights inspired by classic antique Japanese armour. The perforated sections of the protective shade allows light to cast through each hole producing a wonderful play on light and shadow. Tatou is made up of four identical elements which are all interwoven to form a unified dome shape which diffuses light both up and down.

Gan GARDEN LAYERS
Patricia Urquiola travelled to India, where she was captivated by the delicacy and harmony of Mughal architecture, inspiring a new collection which, from the very first moment, she intended for gardens and outdoor space. Garden Layers is a collection of rugs, mats, roll pillows and cushions that can be arranged in many different ways, creating infinite possibilities for outdoor living.
