Prehistoric rock art inspires artists with its motifs of primordial life. Filled with energy, the images of the wild animal are easily read in the curves of the bright contrasting lines. Clean, saturated colours on a light background are reminiscent of paintings on limestone caves. The warm colour scheme of natural shades is combined in the interior with wood furniture, ceramics and houseplants.
Nepalese artisans create hand knotted carpets and rugs using a traditional technique handed down from generation to generation. New Zealand wool and the most durable natural dyes were selected for this rug. The pattern of the finished rug, woven on a loom, is fixed by carving – shearing the pile.
